Anyone Tried DW Collectors Series Drums? Let's Talk!

I love how these drums perform with brushes during softer tunes. They have a nice resonance that’s not overwhelming. Perfect for those intimate gigs!

That’s what I love about them too! They can really fit into any situation. But do they really hold up in high-volume settings? I wonder if the sound would get muddled.

I’ve experienced zero muddling! Used them at a loud rock gig last week, and they remained articulate. Definitely worth investing in them!

What about the build quality? Are they as sturdy as everyone says? I’m really hard on my gear, and I’ve had issues with some brands in the past.

Absolutely! I’ve bonged these around for years, and they still look and sound great. The construction is top-notch, so you won’t regret it!

I have a personal recording of my band jamming with these drums. The dynamic range is fantastic, and I can hear every note clearly. Let me know if you want to hear it!

I wouldn’t say they’re the best for every genre though. I’ve tried them with some heavier stuff, and they just didn’t cut it as I expected. Just my two cents!

That’s interesting! I’ve played heavy rock; they were pretty killer in my opinion! Need to hear your recordings so I can judge for myself.

Overall, they are remarkable drums, but keep an open mind about genres. And remember, one person’s favorite may not be another’s! Would love to see more recordings shared here.

I’ve had the DW Collectors Series for about three years now, and the customization options are incredible! You can choose sizes from 20" to 24" for kicks and various depths. The finishes are stunning too, especially the vintage oils!

Absolutely, the finishes are what drew me in! I went with an exotic wood finish, and it’s worth every penny. Just be prepared for some serious sticker shock when customizing.

That’s true! I spent a bit more on the hardware upgrades as well. The DW 3.0 hardware is a game changer in terms of durability and performance. Anyone tried the titanium lugs? A bit pricey, but they look amazing!

I’ve stuck with the standard lugs for now, but I love the idea of titanium! How do they really stand in terms of weight compared to others? I wonder if it’s worth it for someone who travels a lot.

I use them, and they are lightweight and resilient. If you’re a touring drummer, they add value for sure. Though, yes, the cost is quite steep!

I opted for a smaller bass drum and love the punchy sound. The customization allowed me to switch out depths. Those subtle changes made such a difference in tone! Just be prepared for the financial commitment.

Agreed! Those choices are vital, especially if you want that perfect sound. I felt the quality justified the price tag when I got mine. Definitely a huge investment, though!

Has anyone created a completely custom set from scratch? I’m curious about how the ordering process works and if it gets overwhelming. Would love to hear your experiences!

Creating a custom set can be a bit intimidating; there are lots of options! But it’s also super exciting. You really get to design your dream kit! I think the sound quality and aesthetics are worth some stress.

Exactly, I was confused at first, but I just asked lots of questions. The DW team is really helpful throughout the process.

I think they do a great job with customizing each kit, but honestly, sometimes it feels like they’re just trying to upsell you. You can get decent shells for less elsewhere!
