I think whammy bars can definitely add flair but they can also be a double-edged sword. They can make songs more expressive, but tuning issues can steal the spotlight if you’re not careful.
Any tips for troubleshooting tuning stability when using a whammy bar? My guitar goes out of whack after just a few dives.
I’m curious about the settings you guys use! I’ve dialed in mine at a slight angle, which seems to help with tuning. What works for you?
I’ve set mine parallel to the body of the guitar. Allows for more control without going too overboard. Anyone else have contrary setups?
I think it’s essential to just experiment! I like a floating tremolo for versatility, but I know some prefer a fixed setup.
I agree! Floating systems give more range, but those fixed setups never let me down! They are so reliable.
I tried a whammy bar on my vintage guitar, and now it feels like a modded classic. It’s a bit contentious with purists, but it enhances my sound!
That’s a brave move! I’ve also modded some of my older guitars—sometimes you have to break the mold.
I love using a whammy bar for blues and rock. The subtle bending effects just suit those genres. But I cannot get it to work for jazz!
