Thoughts on Alesis MK1 Active MK2 Monitors?

For sure! I tried moving them around, and they sound much better now! It’s great to see how just a little adjustment can alter the sound quality.

Is it just me, or do they have a subtle hum when idle? Not a deal-breaker, but slightly annoying. Anyone else noticed that?

Haha, yes! It’s like they’re just whispering while waiting for a command! I guess all monitors have some noise, but this feels more like a cheeky personality trait.

I’ve found the Alesis MK1 Active MK2 monitors to be quite sturdy. The casing feels solid, and they’ve held up well over a year of daily use. No issues with durability so far!

Interesting! I’ve had mine for six months, and I’ve noticed slight wear on the volume knobs. Anyone else experience this?

As for material quality, I think they use decent components, but I’ve had the woofer surround start to wear. It’s a minor issue but something to keep an eye on over the years.

That’s good to know! I’m curious if anyone has faced significant problems after extended use, like electrical issues.

I haven’t had any major electrical problems. Just the occasional buzzing when I forgot to ground them. My experience has been positive overall!

Glad to hear that! I’ve mostly used them in studio settings. Have others tried them in different environments?

I’ve only used them in my home studio, and they’ve performed admirably! However, I did drop one once, but it still works fine. Talk about durability!

Wow, that’s impressive! Can anyone comment on how they handle different frequencies? Any concerns there?

They handle frequencies well for the price, but I’ve found the bass to be lacking compared to pricier monitors. Still, for the build quality, can’t complain.

That’s fair! I just wish they had a better aesthetic design. Anyone else think they look a bit dated?
