Thoughts on PRS 85/15 S Pickups?

That’s a great tip, michelle83! Have any of you had any compatibility issues with older models? I’d love to try these pickups, but I’m cautious about installation in my vintage guitar.

I haven’t had issues with my vintage guitars, just the usual check for cavity depth and wiring. However, some vintage setups may require additional shielding for noise reduction.

Ha! I wish my vintage guitars told me they need more shielding. I think they just want to keep me guessing! But seriously, great advice on the installation!

I’ve been using the PRS 85/15 S pickups for about two years now, and I can say they’re incredibly reliable. They hold their tone well, even after a lot of gigs. Longevity seems solid!

That’s great to hear! Do you have to do a lot of maintenance on them, or do they pretty much take care of themselves?

I’ve had similar experiences! They’re low maintenance for me too. I just keep them clean and check the wiring every now and then. Perfect for various playing environments!

Interesting! Have you noticed any changes in tone over time?

Not really. They stay pretty consistent in tone. I’ve played indoors and outdoors, and they hold up well in different conditions. Seems like PRS did a great job with these!

I’m curious about the wear and tear aspect. Do they show signs of wear after a while, especially if you’re playing a lot?

I’ve used mine heavily for gigs, and they only show minimal wear, which is impressive for the use!

Honestly, I don’t think about wear until someone mentions it. They just keep working! Maintenance feels like a breeze too, just a quick wipe after use.

Nice! Are they sensitive to humidity or temperature changes? I’ve heard mixed reviews.

I’ve played them in various climates without issues. Maybe I’m lucky, but I haven’t faced any environmental problems. Would love to hear if others have different experiences!
