So true! I usually prefer teardrop shapes for better precision. Any thoughts on that?
I’m convinced 0.6mm picks can make strumming sound lighter and more fluid. Sometimes I think it’s all about personal preference, though! Anyone else love the lighter feel?
That’s interesting! I’ve always found thinner picks give me less control; it’s a tough balance!
Don’t forget about material! I’ve tried nylon and celluloid, both great for different feels. Any material preferences out there?
Good point! I think nylon offers a bit of a warmer tone, which can be nice for strumming. What do you all think?
For strumming, I really recommend using Dunlop Tortex picks, especially the yellow .73mm. They have a great grip and produce a nice warm tone.
I second that! The Tortex picks give a great feel. I personally prefer the green .88mm for a bit more thickness.
I’ve tried a bunch of brands, but I keep coming back to Fender picks. They offer a nice balance, but I find the heavier ones can be a bit too stiff for my liking.
Interesting! I’ve never been a fan of Fender, but I’ve read good things about their heavier models for strumming. Maybe I should give them a shot!
I love using the John Pearse picks! The .73mm is great for strumming and has a unique tone that sets it apart from others.
I’ve seen those around! How do they compare to Dunlop regarding grip?
I find the grip on John Pearse picks to be excellent! Just be careful, they can wear down faster than Tortex picks during heavy use.
What about the V-Picks? I’ve heard they have a unique acrylic tone that some strummers love. Anyone tried them?
I’ve used V-Picks before! They’re really interesting, but I found them a bit slippery for strumming. Maybe they work better for fingerpicking?
You can’t forget about gravity picks! They are heavy but really effective if you like a solid punch in your strumming.
Heavy picks can definitely offer a good strum. Just be mindful of your tempo if you’re used to lighter ones!
I remember my first pick! It was a plastic one, and I didn’t understand why everyone worried about materials. Now I get it; it makes all the difference!
