While I find it great, I’ve heard some people complain about it not mixing well with other pedals. What’s your experience? Any tips?
I’ve had no issues with mine! It works superbly with my overdrives, but maybe it depends on your pedal chain.
I find it amusing how some folks claim it’s the best thing since sliced bread. A little overhyped? I mean, it’s good but not a miracle worker!
Haha! True! But I do think it definitely brings something unique to the table. Just don’t expect it to do all your playing for you!
It’s great to see varying opinions! One thing is for sure: the Soul Bender has a solid presence. Does anyone else think it feels heavier than other pedals?
Yeah! It is a bit heftier. But I see it as a sign of quality. Keeps me grounded on stage!
I’ve been using the Fulltone Soul Bender with my Gibson Les Paul, and it really shines! The harmonics just pop, especially when I pair it with a Marshall amp. Totally transforms my rig.
That’s awesome! Have you tried it with any Fender guitars? I’m curious how it behaves with single coils.
I tried it with a Stratocaster and it sounded quite different. The clean tones were much more pronounced, but I think it lacked that rich sustain I get from my Les Paul. Still a cool pedal though!
I have to agree with you, reednicholas. The Soul Bender pairs beautifully with humbuckers, but I wonder if it’s just how it plays with my Marshall versus a Fender. Any recommendations for a good amp setup?
For maximum effect, I’d suggest a tube amp with EL34s. That’s what I use, and it just envelops the guitar sound. Definitely gives a fuller vibe when using the Soul Bender.
I’m using it with a Vox AC30, and it really brings the best out of my Tele! Sparkly highs and a warm midsection—truly a delight. Anyone else tried that kind of setup?
Sounds interesting! I’ve always thought Vox amps have a unique character. Any tips on settings to highlight that?
A good starting point with a Vox would be keeping the gain around 12 o’clock. It helps achieve that nice breakup without losing clarity. Don’t overdo the reverb, though!
I have to say, I’m not a fan of the Soul Bender with my clean setups. It seems to muddy things up a bit. Anyone else feel this way?
I hear you georgedixon. It definitely can get a bit chaotic if you’re looking for cleaner tones. Might be better to explore other options.
Honestly, for the price point, it’s worth trying with different setups! Worst case, you can find it makes a great paperweight. Just kidding! But seriously, try it before buying.
I’d love to give it a shot, especially if it opens up more sonic possibilities. Just worried about the cost. What do you think—any way to reduce expenditure when trying different setups?
